Did Evan survive? I know that Nicole says "Let's go see Daddy. He's waiting for us". However, she also refers to getting married as "holding that kind of event makes no sense now, and they'd never be able to mark an anniversary anyway".

Nicole stated that wearing the wedding dress was pointless. The dress was something from a white man ceremony and not the native ways. I believe Evan prepared their new home and his family were going to join him there.(less)
