If I were to put an age-rating on this book, I would say it is for ages thirteen and up. The romance is minimal and clean (only a brief kissing scene near the end) , so you don’t have to worry about that. The magic (spell mastery) depicted in the book isn’t dark. (Think of magic in a Disney movie) There is, on the other hand, a lot of bloodshed. (A family is executed by a firing squad, severe injuries among the main characters, someone is stabbed in the eye, etc...) There’s no “gore” in the book, just bloodshed on a Hunger Games level, so if that isn’t your thing, I would skip past those parts. But otherwise, Romanov is a great book! I recommend checking out the author’s other book, Fawkes as well! I hope this was helpful. :) (less)
