Kathy McCollister

Did anyone else have a difficult time reading this book because of so many "typos?" Editor should of proofed the wording better before printing. As for the storyline...book was very good.

Patty Beal-Ransom It's hilarious that you wrote "should of" rather than "should HAVE". LOL.
Una I'm usually driven distracted by errors in books, but while I did see a few (eg "Mama and I" when "Mama and me" was actually correct), I didn't find that many... maybe because I was completely absorbed in the story. So much so that I was fighting back the tears by the end of it.
Dena On of the perks of listening to the audio! Don't notice the typos!
Rose If there was a way to vote 10 stars, I would do it. I thought the book was well written and very interesting. So what if there were a few errors.
Arlene Never have I seen so many typos in a book before, but aside from that, I really LOVED this book!!
Robin Yes. I was so surprised at the number of mistakes. Not just typos but wrong character names. Thought this was just because I was reading on an e-reader.
Boyce Nah! Not even a little bit. It was a story that kept me engaged to the very last page.
Linda There were typos, and, honestly, the stories are dynamite. The pacing and the plot, and the structure: compelling and well done. The prose, not so much. I lurched my way through the inner dialogue of both Lina and Alice.
Tanyam I don't think that the book was very well written and there were some inconsistencies with the Polish. I like the story line too.
LEE I noticed the same thing. Very distracting!
Kathy I loved this book, but I did find at least 5 + grammatical errors. The use of I and me were often used incorrectly, especially in the first half of the book.
Jackie Copper I'm listening to the Audiobook so not noticing typos. However, I cringe at how naive Aleena is despite the atrocities raging outside her family's door, and think "was I that stupid as a teenager?" No. Then I cringe when the story switches to Alice, who has let her life be ruined by the care of her disabled son. Weak women characters (except Aleena's mother) and stronger male characters makes me wonder if a man wrote this. Not finished with the book, so I'm sure both characters will wise up.
Louise Hébert What I found distracting was the constant back and forth with Alice and Alina, I usually try not to read books that do that but sometimes it can't be avoided. Love the story, didn't notice that many errors!
