Jane G asked Catharine Riggs:

Thoroughly enjoyed reading an AC of your latest novel. Curious as to how you choose your characters and why you seem to write such crazy difficult people?

Catharine Riggs Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the advance copy. To answer your question, I like writing characters who are at a crossroads in their lives. Characters who may have spent years hiding their personas behind a cloak of invincibility only to find themselves suddenly vulnerable. Characters who are facing a crisis and are forced to question their life choices. Then I apply an outside threat to help expose a hidden wrong or uncover a buried secret and see how my characters react.
