I believe in being "stuck" but not blocked. It's all a hard swallow sometimes and you just have to get up, get outside, get away from the screens, and breathe. A change of scenery helps the necessary perspective shift for me. Changing pens, shifting from paper to computer or vice versa, going out for a drive.
One trick that I've found works really well for me is to sit down with your characters and have a conversation. It's no different than doing a character interview so put the crazy label away. ha LARP it out, see what they want to do in whatever situation you are stuck in.
