This has happened to me with a good number of my publications. Do your characters get away from you and do unexpected things? What do you think about the end result, if they do?

This hasn’t happened to me - yet. For the most part they behave themselves, are predictable to me, as the mother. However, if it did happen, I would say go with it. If you get the urge to write it I think it’s because that character is unpredictable by nature. It could also be said that it is simply a part of your creative process, soething that defines you as a writer.
