The overarching objective of Metaphors we live by was to make the reader aware that the use of Metaphors happens to hide or highlight certain aspects of reality. (Argument is War vs Argument is Dance). Whereas a Hero with a 1000 faces is going the opposite way, where it analyses metaphors from heroic myths around the world and gives a realistic interpretation.

So, MWLB is going from Reality to Metaphors and AHWTF is going from from Metaphors to Reality. Thats my two cents(less)
