Andrew, may I ask if any **real-life experiences** inspired you in Wilder? Based on you in real life, I would guess no (I've never seen you ride a motorcycle.) Is the main character based on someone you know/knew?

I rode a motorcyle a lot like Jason’s bike in my 20s. I gave it up when a driver in Philly ran a red light and came eight feet from annihilating me.
I’m not Jason, though there are enegrgies and urges we share. He’s a kid who has to raise himself, and I had periods like that growing up. We share some internal wiring. We hate pity. We have a hard time seeing beyond our internal story. And we adore anyone who can out-think and out-swerve us. But Jason’s challenges aren’t mine, His love of fighting, the addictions in his family, his isolation. He’s his own person, and not inspired by any real-life person.
He showed up, is how I would say it.
