What inspired me to write my three books was the desire to share the untold stories of people who weren't in the limelight but who were participating in incredibly important events. I enjoy the challenge of hearing 100 or people tell me "their truth" - the way they experienced things - and then honor those experiences and try to fit them all together into the bigger picture. It's such a thrill to hear some of these folks say, after reading one of my books, "I was there, but I only knew my piece of it. I had no idea all this other stuff was going on."
