towards the end of the book when Mira goes back home to take Matthew by surprise (when shes convinced hes a killer) she sees that the couch had been "slept" on and wonders if "richard slept there" and also she "hadnt thought about him in years". I feel like this was never explained, or i just missed something. Does this mean she knew her husband had split personalities?

Swanson refers to McDonald in his Acknowledgements, and it feels like the kind of twisty slick story McDonald could do easily, although in South Florida, of course. It's got some feeling of a 1960s or 70s story. Anyone else have this thought? (less)
