Hi Robin, curious to know the background story on "STILL-TOO-SKINNY" while entering the Marrow Fair door? I realize the key was a bone but was the statement tied into something else?

In a version of the classic fairy tale "Hansel and Gretel," the witch keeps the titular kids in a cage (it's a classic fairy tale! It's dark!) and, every so often, demands that Hansel extend a finger so she can test his fatness and see if he's fit for cooking. (I told you it was dark!!) Hansel is mildly clever; instead of offering his finger, he offers a chicken bone, and each time, the witch pronounces, "Still too skinny!" -- which buys the children time to plot their escape.

Hi Robin, really enjoyed Penumbra! What's your tip or suggestion for making war with writer's block/apathy? I haven't published anything yet, but all I seem to have are a lot of loosely organized pieces (rants really) that meander and never seem to coalesce into something larger. Do I sort through the pieces or do I give up for a while and come back? Thanks for reading!
