I loved the book, but I hated the fact that Tate and Kya didn't have any children. I realize that real life doesn't always wrap up in a neat bow, and people can have a complete and full life without kids, but it just felt so incredibly sad to end that way. Is there a reason you think the author wrote it like this? Because I can't come up with a good reason!

Had they had children, Kya would have had to interact with the town, take the kids to school, possibly talk to other adults. In a way, having Kya not have kids allowed her to stay wild.
