Amanda asked this question about Where the Crawdads Sing:
I loved the book, but I hated the fact that Tate and Kya didn't have any children. I realize that real life doesn't always wrap up in a neat bow, and people can have a complete and full life without kids, but it just felt so incredibly sad to end that way. Is there a reason you think the author wrote it like this? Because I can't come up with a good reason!

I have seen enough friends and family with kids and without kids to know that those with kids are no happier than those without. If anything, those w/o kids have had much more exciting lives and pursuits and freedoms. I love kids, but I much prefer to be an "auntie" figure, personally. :)(less)
