Dani
Dani asked Miranda Kenneally:

When thinking about a new book, do the story or the characters come up first for you? For example, do you think about the personality of one of the characters and build the subject/story around it or you think the story first and the characters start showing up after? Love your books. Thanks! xx

Miranda Kenneally It really depends on the book. Sometimes I think up the plot (or the big "hook") first, and other times a character and a big problem they have comes to mind. With Catching Jordan, I came up with the hook first - "girl football player." And with that, I started fleshing out the characters and story. The same thing happened with Racing Savannah (girl horse jockey) and Breathe, Annie, Breathe (girl running a marathon). With Stealing Parker and Things I Can't Forget, the characters and problems came first. Until I sit down and start writing, I don't know what will come out first. Thanks for your question!
