Goodreads asked Cheryl Coder:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Cheryl Coder Just write. Set aside a small time to focus on your writing. And read!!! Read the classics, for sure!! And then, reading the genre you enjoy is a way to mentally develop the patterns of writing for that genre. Then go find your own voice!!! Everyone can write! You have to let loose about being perfect as you write and just let the creative juices flow! Write what you love. There's something called 'drafts'. Then the other work begins. But to find your true voice, just write. Opinions, stories, poetry. And be able to accept constructive suggestions to refine the process.
