(view spoiler)[Hi! I really loved the whole trilogy, so thank you so much for letting us into that amazing world you created. My question is about a character that stood out the most to me: the Fetch. Do you think the Fetch is a hero or a villain? Did he redeem himself by helping Kelsea? (hide spoiler)]

Hi Evelyn,
If I had to choose, I would say he's an anti-hero. But I never saw him as any one thing. I try to make my characters realistic, rather than narratively round. For me, the Fetch represents the guy you instantly fall in love with, but then after a few months of knowing him, you realize he's human like everyone else, and a few months after that you can't even remember why you once thought he was so great. :) As to redemption, I would say he accomplishes that more by helping Katie (as implied at the end of the Fate), rather than Kelsea. My take, for what it's worth. Thanks very much for reading.

Just finished the trilogy. WOW! I got my local library in Santa Fe to order the prequel and can't wait to absorb myself even more in this amazing world. I'm from Marin had a good chuckle at the references to the Bay Area. Question - this is a such a complex story, what is your secret to keeping all of the many storylines in order and bringing them into such a satisfying conclusion?
