Goodreads asked Aidan O'Rourke:

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Aidan O'Rourke Often reality is disappointing, fantasy is far more interesting. As a writer or originator/creator - I have issues with the term 'writer' because writing is just the final part of the process, it's just transferring the story to a more permanent format that enables you to share it with others - as someone who is creative and can turn that creativity into readable stories (which can also be turned into plays or films) it's great to be able to share my experiences, grab people's attention, keep them interested, hopefully inform them, change their mind about things, inspire them, open their eyes to things. If you can also turn it into a career and gain remuneration for something you just have to do, something that's a way of life, then that is the ideal lifestyle, a dream come true.
