Goodreads asked Valerie Miller:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Valerie Miller I was racking my brain one morning, trying to figure out which book in my head I wanted to either pick up and continue writing... or start from scratch.

Time seems to be a big issue for most anyone, and I was no exception. Right now, my "free time" is very limited. Between working my day-job, still having kids at home, having pets and trying to help with the farm... not much time is left in the day for just "me".

I have started so many books over the years, and I have come to a stopping point on most all of them. I would find myself needing to re-direct my time as life can certainly get busy at times.

For me, writing is one of those things that I love to be able to get lost in. When I have ideas flowing through my mind, I need to be able to let the ideas flow freely and spend hours at a time (or even days) just writing.

My kids are getting older now and getting close to leaving the nest. I am finally to a point in my life again, where I feel like I can try and convert some of my "free time" into "me time" and get back to writing.

Still being limited on the allotted time each day, I needed to find a book that I could write in sections. It was important for me to be able to write bits at a time without getting frustrated when my allotted time was up each day.

The idea for my current series came into my head and I was shocked. I never thought of myself as a Non-Fiction writer. All the books that have been in my head are works of fiction. They have all ranged from children's picture books to adult. Where in the world did my brain come up with this new idea?

I have learned to go with the flow over the years and to not question some things in life too much. I accepted the challenge my thoughts presented, and I started writing again! Before I knew it I had finished my rough draft and I went back through to edit and finalize. My words and ideas had never seemed to flow as easily as they did for this first book and now second in the series.

I am so glad I had accepted my own challenge as it honestly allowed my to get two birds with one stone. Not only did I get to finish and publish my first book (and soon to be second book)... but I am also getting to help people out at the same time! I love helping people and my first series is designed to allow people to build their different relationships in life.

I hope you all enjoy reading and utilizing my books, as much as I enjoy writing them! Thank you all and I look forward to hearing your feedback as I have included my email address in my books for you to be able to reach out.
