As for your question, when I’m at home, a writing day generally consists of me waking up, banishing my dog to his daycare (if he’s near me on writing days, no writing gets done!) and then buckling down to work. If it’s nice out I’ll write on my porch (I thankfully live in a quiet neighborhood), or on my couch. It’s not super glamourous, but it allows me to really focus. As for the story I generally have a few plot points in mind, but most of the ‘magic’ happens once the characters’ personalities start to really develop.
