Dorothy Young no. it is honest about the authors experience and questions and search. she doesn’t gloss over the hard part of growing up as a transracial adoptee. she is clear about her love for her adoptive parents but she also doesn’t glorify adoption as what saved her.
Carleen No, it is honest and expresses her opinion, which is not negative towards adoption. Adoption is a complex issue especially for the adoptee.
Adam Honestly, so what if it is? It's Nicole's memoir. She's entitled to her opinion, grounded in her personal experience as a transracial, transnational adoptee and in her years of research.
Dennis Raffaelli I felt that it could possibly discourage people from adopting, especially a child of different ethnic group.
Jan Bishop I felt like it was heartfelt and honest. She struggled as the only Korean in her family, school and town, plus being adopted. It is complex. She expresses her love for her adopted parents, but she also is grateful that she found her biological family. It helped her know who she is.
