Oh god, I don't even know. Sometimes I open up the document and stare at it sadly, hoping inspiration will come. Reading helps. Sometimes I'll get an interesting dream. Taking a shower helps, actually! I get some of my best plot fixers in the shower. Usually, though, I just read a ton and wait for my readers to guilt me into getting back to work. ;)
