Mary, one of our children's librarians, told me that she checked in a summer reading finisher yesterday named Ellie Quinn. Mary asked her if she knew she was named after a science fiction character, and her mother said “Really?” and then proceeded to tell Mary the little sister’s name – Cordelia! Mary was rooting for the third sister to be named Elena, but she turned out to be Emma.

As I begin to read Free Falling after reading the series thus far in the chronological timeline of the Vorkosigan family, I wanted to express my gratitude for your creation. My dad read this series as a kid (I am 24) and not only has this series formed a camaraderie between us as we bonded over Miles and his adventure, but this series reminded me of my love of reading. Thank you! (Including a ? so I can post this lol)

I just got finished reading Memory and as I was nearing the middle of it, I was hit by just how great it was, not only as a novel, but also as the culmination of such a wonderful series so far. I've already started on Komarr. How much planning goes into your novels? Are you a seat of the pants writer?
