I may have missed it, but I’ve double and triple checked. On page 57, Darby thinks to herself “Jay Nissen. Age nine. Reported missing in San Diego.” Except, at no point was there any indication that I can find that Jay was nine. It’s such a tiny detail but it set the read off on the wrong foot for me. Can anyone point out where this was stated and I missed it?

Lisa Costanzo I assumed that she had learned this detail while talking to her and then it was inserted there to allow us, the readers, to also know.
Jillian There are sooo many inconsistencies with details like this due simply to bad editing. They also change her age from 9 to 7 and back to 9 like 3 times.
Nancy B Much later in the book there was mention of an Amber Alert for Jay. Maybe Darby remembers this.
Alicia I don't think it was stated; I double and triple checked, too. This drove me CRAZY!
Brandon-Tandra Whaley I think she is guessing based on her size and voice. She goes between 7 and 9 because she isn't sure, but it's what she is assuming.
Rachel I'm listening to the audiobook version and at one point she says something about talking to a 7 year old. Not sure if she is really 9 or 7?
