This little question thing is pretty nifty. Anyway, I was scrolling down and saw you were pretty far into 'The Troop' by Nick Cutter. I was walking around the store the other day with that in my hand, I had only read one review, it sounded pretty good, but it also sounded ...generic? For lack of a better work.
What I'm asking is, what do you think of it so far? Is it worth the read?

(view spoiler)[I'll put it to you like this, Spire: I have an iron stomach and few things in this world have the ability to make me squirm or shudder in revulsion. This book is one of those rarities. It is anything but generic. My one warning to potential readers would be that children are subjected to suffering which even I find a bit overboard. The writing is very good, approaching poetic, at times, so it isn't a constant barrage of revolting gore, but gore there is aplenty. (hide spoiler)]
