Is there something going on with Christopher and Sally? I did not really think so in the Mark of the Plague. But towards the end of The Assassin's Curse, it made it look like they had something going on. Christopher needs to stay focused at the task at hand. And that is taking care of his friends. So when he cares for Sally, is there something special appearing at all?
