Do you need knowledge of the prior series to enjoy this book? I just happened to pick up this book because the premise looked interesting, not knowing that it was part of an ongoing series.

You could read them in any order because as in a previous comment WKK fills you in nicely about the characters and their relationship to one another. Having said that I would recommend reading them in chronological order if you can, it was good to follow the character development and understand the community and region the stories were set in. WKKs writing makes you feel like you are right there, weaves a good tale, just when you think you have it figured out, he throws a curve ball. The endings always build to a point where you can’t put the book down as you get drawn into the drama and tense excitement (danger) that unfolds. Start with Iron Lake and carry on from there, you won’t be disappointed. (less)
