So Dexter Bell was the wrong man to kill, but why did Liza sleep with Jupe? Thinking her husband is dead doesn't seem like a valid excuse to me.

Unfortunately it is also inferred that he gave her VD unless that was an infection from the botched abortion. Either way Mr man of few words Pete could have found a few to share with Rev.
