Christine It truly was. It took me longer than my 3 week library loan period to read it, and I was home sick for all three weeks!
Sue C I thought the book just dragged and dragged. I was very disappointed.
Melissa A Bartlett Sadly, I found it to be a struggle all the way through.
Michelle C I really appreciated the pace and in-depth first person analysis . . . I had no trouble getting through
Sigrid Hansen Very boring and repetitive. 910 pages! Why not just 500 pages?
UKEXPAT74 I started reading this book (e-book) in hospital and couldn't decide whether it was the book itself, painkillers or the hospital atmosphere which made my progress so slow. It has taken me 10 days to finish and I have to admit that this book is not worth the effort I put into completing it.

It was long-winded and right from the beginning one knew without a doubt whether it was going to end negatively or positively for Toby.
RefrigeratorRunning Unlike French's other books, I have no connection, sympathy, or at least team (Murder Squad) loyalty for the protagonist, or anyone in his friends and family circles. This has been paused for the last few months. Will it eventually get somewhere?

Cathy Too long ....skipped to the ending.........not satisfying at all. Another disappointment from an author I enjoy!
Dawn Minella Yes! I thought it dragged too. I wasn't sure if that was because I accidentally got the Large Print edition from my library and that just made it seem longer. I really struggled with this one. And the ending wasn't particularly satisfying.
Janis RoseAnne It's very slow moving!
