I was asked by several readers-- How did Sam Wyatt come about? Where does a girl like this come from?-- and I started to wonder-- why not write a prequel to the Complicated Creatures series? When you meet Samantha in the first book, she's already a hyper-successful businesswoman and international bad-ass.
So... I thought then, why not the prequel? The beginning before Book 1, when Sam is just a college student, trying to figure it all out? What was her first love like? What was her relationship with her little brother and father like? Who was her closest friend? How did she get set on the path to becoming an military interrogator?

After Binge Reading All of your books this weekend..... please tell me Number 3's release date is in sight???? You have really hit on something with the strength of this female character and the tension of the triangle between Wes, Jack and Sam --- I still am not sure which guy to root for..... which means to me that you have created characters with incredible depth.
