Lukas asked this question about Foundryside (The Founders Trilogy, #1):
Does this book have a satisfying ending for a #1 in a series? im kinda traumatised by having like 8 series on hold with an average wait time of 5 years per book, so being cliffhangered in a new series would be too much...

Though the author does leave you at a reasonable stopping point, he dangles a bunch of loose ends in front of you just before closing the book. Anyone who was paying attention knew those threads were still there to be resolved, and intentionally raising them felt cheap. One step too far, like some Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys cliff-hanger business. Like, did you really need to put in a plug for your next book at the end of the first one? Just let us feel good about what your characters have accomplished for a second.

Fun book otherwise, though!(less)
