Curiosity burning a hole in my head is what gets me out of bed most days. I can't rest till I've answered that question. Or purged that story.
It's the anticipation of knowing how good I'll feel once the story is told that keeps me going through the endless boxes of research, searching for the elusive nugget, piecing the puzzle together, and making the story sit cohesively together as a satisfying whole.
On second thoughts: perhaps I should have just gone straight into the police force as a detective. I'm sure the hours and pay are better!
