Amar Trivedi Yes! It is! I have just finished reading The Martian, and I did read it after watching the movie. The movie is what actually let me about this book’s existence. If you enjoyed the movie, It is still worth reading it. There are a few differences between the movie and book, and the book does expand on more things, as like any book to film adaptation. I would recommend. You can also read my review which details what I liked and didnt like on the book (it is spoiler free).
