She dumps her girlfriend over the phone and regards "the gay community" as "dead". It is possible for Christians who have strong/extreme standards of sexual morality to love, respect and be friends with those who don't live up to those standards but this author thinks you should regard gays and lesbians as "dead". And those of us Christians who have a different interpretation of the six verses from her, she does not regard as Christians.

She argues strongly that singleness is an acceptable option for the Same Sex Attracted Christian but she leaves that to page 117 so, until then, she gives the impression that you should, like her, start a heterosexual relationship. The possibility of any same sex relationship, even non-sexual, is ignored. The relationship between David and Jonathan ("Your love to me was wonderful, surpassing the love of women") isn't mentioned.

The only suggestion that the Church might not always be friendly to same sex attracted Christians (duh) is when she acknowledges how hard it can be to be single.

Considering the obvious audience for this is those Christians who are unhappy about their sexuality already, it seems almost designed to push them towards suicidal thoughts.

So yes, it is homophobic.(less)
