No, Hemingway certainly wasn't the most virtuous person on earth--not by a long shot!--but he's a fascinating character study, which is like catnip for a writer. Caught the last bit of your chat tonight and just read your NYT article of March 21. Using personal trauma to enliven your writing is, I'm sure, difficult, but successful. How can I overcome my inhibitions to do the same in my writing?
