Goodreads asked Vernell Chapman:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Vernell Chapman Nothing can stifle a writer more than reaching a point when the ideas stop
coming. I offer three quick methods of fighting writer's block once and for all:

1. If you get to a point in your writing that you can't sort out, skip it. You
can always return to the troublesome part of the story when you've worked through the details.
2. How many times have you been in the grocery store or in your car when a great idea came to mind only to have the idea slip away when you walk into the house? Here's an idea… Carry a small notebook with you when you leave the house.
3. The most important point of all, is to simply keep writing! Don't stop.
If you write a chapter and end up tossing it later, so be it… Writing anything is better than writing nothing at all.
