Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Iris van Ooyen The idea came to me one late summer evening. Just before falling a sleep these three sentences popped into my mind:

They do it again.
I’m so tired.
Did I turn them on?

I I realized this could be a book and put the concept aside. However, the idea kept coming back, badgering me relentlessly until I finally gave in. At last I realized this book would not be something I would write someday, but today, and the following weeks, months and almost three years. Once I surrendered and embraced the idea, I thoroughly enjoyed the process.
