Goodreads asked Marilyn Foxworthy:

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Marilyn Foxworthy The best thing about being a writer for me is...well, the money is nice, but the best thing about it is that I feel like I write, but I'm not a writer. The best thing is having a venue for my storytelling. Public speaking is the same for me. I love to tell a story. Sometimes that's in a college classroom or a lecture hall or a public event or in the living room with friends or at the kitchen table or driving down the road with a friend or sitting in a restaurant. And sometimes it's sitting here at the coffee shop, writing so that as many people who want to can read it. Writing lets me tell a story and if people read it, I get to hear that they enjoyed the story.
