Nik asked Genevieve Cogman:

After thinking a bit more about the nature of the library, I was wondering if there was any Information about the first piece of writing that the Library ever collected. And maybe in that vein, is there something like a tome of the librarys history? Best Regards, Nik

Genevieve Cogman That is an excellent question. Unfortunately, although the Library is several thousand years old, there is a definite lack of history about exactly _who_ founded it, when, where, why, and how. Or what the first book was. Or where the first book is.

And yes, this does worry Librarians. (Even the more cynical ones, who are prepared to accept that the Library might have hidden its own past as a security measure, would like to know a little more...)

There are lots of urban legends among Librarians, though.
