Hello Mrs. Chesney,
What prompted you to begin writing mysteries and do you think a background in writing is essential for writers to be genuine?
Thank you :-)
I was a journalist for years and that helped when I started writing. Also, a passionate love of stories. For example, when Catherine Cookson decided to start writing, she realised she hadn’t read enough and so didn't start until she had ready volumes and volumes. No, I don’t think a background in writing is necessary. But do not show any work to your best friend, say, who will praise it to keep you happy, or to husband or wife, who will point out you have spelled cat wrong on page 2.
