Meg asked Eloisa James:

Hi, which of your books feature a non virgin heroines or both female and male virgin leads? I love HR but hate the importance on woman's virginity and how the husbands expect wives to be all pure but they can sleep around. The double standards just make me sick.

Eloisa James Hi there! I completely understand your dislike of the double standard. It's a Catch-22 for historical romance writers because that is historically accurate, alas. A wife had to be a virgin in order to guarantee (supposedly) that the first son would be the husband's, since the laws of primogeniture gave the entire estate to that first son. At any rate, I've never really categorized my novels this way, so this is a little haphazard. Two books have both virgins: Once Upon a Tower and When the Duke returns. Non virgin heroines aren't as distinct in my mind. A Duke of Her Own. Taming of the Duke. I hope you enjoy them!
