I would say it's not an YA book. The description is very misleading; true, Part 1 happens at a school and the main character is 14-16, but it changes almost completely in Part 2 and Part 3. I would definitely not recommend it if you're looking for an easy school drama with the usual love triangle.

The books contains war crimes, like torture, brutal murder, babies thrown in the air by soldiers trying to cut them in half before they hit the ground, and rapes that last for days while breasts are cut off when women resist or when the rapist feel like it.
