Hello Ms.Cogman, this might seem like a silly question. But since I´ve been racing through your books in the last two weeks and will be done with the mortal word in foreseeable Time, I wanted to ask what recommendations you could give for books that are similar to yours. Other than that, thank you for writing Irene/Ray and all the other lively characters. (apparently I need to add a question mark) "?"

Not silly at all! The problem is that it's difficult for me to say what books are "similar to mine" - it's a very subjective judgment. (And really, if they were too close to mine, I probably shouldn't be reading them in case of unconscious plagiarism...)
You might enjoy the _Great Library_ series by Rachel Caine. Other authors I recommend, whether or not they're particularly like my writing (though I could wish my writing was as good as theirs!) are Barbara Hambly, Scott Lynch, Barry Hughart, Diane Duane, Nora Jemisin, Elizabeth McCoy, Robin McKinley, Marie Brennan, Katherine Arden, Terry Pratchett, Yoon Ha Lee, and Ursula Vernon. (And that's just from a casual look around at my bookshelves.)

Hi! Love your Library series! re-reading book 2, quick question: In the Venice sphere, what benefit to Lord Guantes if he starts this war? how does this help him? And, in general, why is the Library (Irene's supervisor esp.) so hard on Irene? aren't they more worried about the Library? why wouldn't they help her more? i know they have to stay "neutral" but at what cost? seems they leave her on her own! please answer!

I have what may seem like an odd question. I love writing, I couldn't stop writing even if I wanted to, but I have tendency to feel detached from what's happening on my page. This is the exact opposite of what happens when I read a good story from someone else. When you are writing exciting/tense scenes, do you feel that excitement/anxiety? Can't wait to read Lost Plot! It will be in my hands tomorrow at last!
