Goodreads asked Tabitha Darling:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Tabitha Darling My approach with writer's block is to just sit and think, sometimes of the large picture, other times how a character might realistically respond, or an animal, or the political climate, whatever the scene calls for and its major elements... all backed up against the range of normal patterns. If I'm so stumped that nothing jumps out at me, I may rewind and go to earlier scenes, and consider reworking them, try a different path. If that fails I simply back off, music can help, watching a movie that may trigger a hint of a scene, but usually the best moments of inspiration hit in that time of near sleep. Basically I sit and think til something strikes me, or even several ideas.
