An Observers Perspective

Genevieve Cogman:
Me again, I have so many questions and speculations! :) Do you imagine Kai (and dragons in general) with a typical Asian appearance even in their human form? And do genetically related dragons look-alike in their respective human forms, or is the visual heritage perhaps only visible in their dragon appearance, if visible at all? Can a dragon consciously affect how it looks in its human form?
Genevieve Cogman
So far all the dragons whom Irene has met in human form have had an Asian appearance in their human form, even if their hair or skin colour might be anomalous, or someone who wasn't aware of their true nature might consider them to be "mixed race". She hasn't seen enough genetically related dragons yet to determine whether or not there are family resemblances. (Yes, I am deliberately answering this from Irene's point of view.)
I will say, from the author's point of view, that no, a dragon can't consciously affect how they look in human form. If they could, then (to pick a random example) Kai would find it a lot easier to disguise himself.

Genevieve Cogman:
I just started reading The Invisible Library and was struck by a similarity between the dragons in your book who hold the balance of technology and magic and the old PC game The Longest Journey, in which there are dragons who have the same responsibility. Are you familiar with that game, and did it inspire your dragon idea?

Hi Ms Cogman, I am an ardent reader from Turkey. First of all, thank you for your latest book. I had pre-ordered it weeks ago, and the moment it arrived I devoured it ferociously! It has been a fantastic read. I wonder when "The Lost Plot" will be out? It says December 2017 on the page, but will it perhaps be sooner? I am so sorry, if I sound too much like a cliché but I really can't wait for more adventures. :)
