Would anyone care to share a comment on whether Pollan has gone off the deep end wit this one? I really enjoyed "The Omnivore's Dilemma," but this sounds from the dust jacket/publisher blurb to the reader being treated to an experience of the author's high without doing the drug.

If you were to try a psychedelic experience you would realize how silly it would be to assume the intention of anyone who has had the experience to even make an attempt to do as you suggested in saying “the reader being treated to an experience of the author’s high without doing the drug.” You cannot experience the author’s high, even if you were doing the drug.(less)
