How and why did you come up of the "Tuesdays at the Castle" series?

Jessica Day George Well, I was tired and I was getting into bed, and suddenly I thought, "When Castle Slaughter got bored it would grow a new room." (Yes, my editor made me change the name of the castle immediately.) And it just sort of all started floating around in my head: the young princess that the castle loved, the different rooms, etc.
