He apparently didn't d…more Having just finished the book today I can say that I think that he had no other outlet for his confusion and sadness than sex. He apparently didn't drink, he was relatively immature, and he had to find a way to quell the dark anger he probably held when things were so out of control and he didn't know what to do. He found an outlet that allowed him to stay with Lucia and take care of their baby. I am not saying that this is necessarily a great thing to do in a relationship but it sounds like it kept him relatively sane, didn't hurt Lucia, and kept their marriage together. I'm with Asia below. (less)
