Since you write SIFI, have you read the Game of Thrones Series by George R. Martin?

Sean McBride I have and I love it (at least what's been published)! The fantastic elements aside, he does a spectacular job developing characters and sewing political intrigue. I love how each chapter is from that character's perspective, and you see what their understanding is of a particular event, but sometimes those perspectives aren't right, and that changes everything.
