asked:
I’m confused. Doesn’t being a eunuch mean he has no male parts? I’m not sure i really understand the specifics of what was done to make a eunuch. Also, did he have sex with that Russian lady? If so, how? Wasn’t that the point of eunuchs in harems? (I.e. they had no sexual urges, unable to act as a normal male) Someone please help and explain..

Also - to add a bit more detail - it is believed that eunuchs *could* potentially orgasm as orgasms are not limited to genital stimulation or reaction (as most women well know). BUT they will have limited or no ejaculate. But there is no reason they wouldn't be able to be a sexually satisfying as a lesbian partner is. And they could experience sexual pleasure as well, but they would likely have a lower sex drive than if they were not castrated.

Jenna, authors have been getting this issue wrong for so long. First of all, there are varying levels of 'castration'. And, thus, varying levels of sexual urges and capabilities. Without testicles, a male voice will not deepen at puberty, thus the famous singing castratos (there does exist a few recordings.) But that doesn't mean the guy can't get an erection! Throughout history, many of those eunuchs were having lots of fun for hours...endlessly...and therein lies the rub : the inability to have an orgasm.

To complete the other answers: capability to have erections was depending on the age at which the partial castration (only testicles) was executed, before or after puberty; in the latter case the eunuchs could still feel sexual impulse and have erections
