Just discovered your lovely books. I would like to ask one question: I am no historian so I am sure you can clarify; at a certain point in your book Kate sings Ring a Ring o' Roses to her children.........but I had always thought of that song as something sung in the 1700s or later certainly not as early as 1470s....I know the plague was around but I didn't think the song was known. Have you any info for me? Thanks.

Thank you for your message, Paola. I am very careful with my research and this little London ditty came from the time of the Black Death around 1348.
The bubonic plague had several iterations in England after that, including in the Wars of the Roses period. The worst epidemic in London after the 14th century one was of course in 1665 ("hardly anyone left alive'"). Best, Anne

SKP's Sunne led me to Richard III & your wonderful books. I am visiting London, York & Leicester this Autumn (2016). Can you share some places where the spirit of those medieval stories still lives? Of course I will follow the tourist track but I would love to see some hidden gems or personal favorites of yours. Thank you & please keep writing!

Thank you for all your wonderful work. I completely understand about "hanging up your pen" you deserve it. I will be sad that there will be no more books, but at least I have the ones you've already written which have been read many times and will in the future. I am just beginning my career as an author. Both my kids are grown, so I decided it was time to take the leap. Thank you again. ?

I'm an amateur historical fiction writer, and I end up feeling such a connection to (perhaps even a bond with!) the historical figures I choose to focus on. Given your long-time connection to Richard III, how did you react to the recent discovery of his remains and did that inspire you to dig even deeper?
